Taka Family

Kobi's story is another one of those significant "lockdown stories" that is much needed to be shared. Our blog series actually started somewhat in the beginning of lockdown 2020, and just like the rest of the people, this pandemic taught us some lessons too, hence we’re still going even after almost two years.

For some of us it gave the meaning of family a much different purpose and meaning. Kobi and Matt had some struggles starting their family, it took them a while to have their first born and right before they had their second child, they suffered a miscarriage, and adding to that, the second one was born right in the beginning of level four lockdown. However, even though there were tough moments, they managed to find time to celebrate their love and they actually got eloped right before they had Alluka - their second child. Because all these happened during lockdowns, all of these milestones in their lives happened with no pictures.

I suppose one good thing that came out of this pandemic is how we preserve memories. We now know that nothing is permanent and with a click of a finger, everything could change. I know that as years go by, this pandemic will be forgotten, and that it is all it's going to be - a distant memory. But I hope that, the memory it serves will stay with us, I hope that it will keep reminding us that nothing in this world can be forever; that one day, all the things we share, we experience, we love, we cherish could one day be taken away from us... but having those memories and pictures, we will be reminded of how it was once.
